Card Distribution Process

STARS organizes volunteer-driven letter and card-writing campaigns to support refugee students emotionally and socially.

Process:

  1. Volunteers create handwritten or digital cards following provided guidelines

  2. Cards are reviewed by STARS team members to ensure:

    • Appropriate language

    • Cultural sensitivity

    • Encouraging and supportive messaging

  3. Approved cards are compiled and organized

  4. Cards are delivered through partner organizations or direct distribution channels​​

- Our current distributions go to:

- Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Australia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Columbia, Ecuador, Mexico, Venezuela, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland,  Italy, Kosovo, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Republic of North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom

How Donations Are Used

All donations made to STARS are used to directly support refugee students and families, as well as sustain our programs.

Funds are allocated to:

  • School supplies (backpacks, notebooks, writing tools)

  • Basic necessities (food support, hygiene products)

  • Program materials (letter-writing campaigns, educational resources)

  • Operational costs (packaging, shipping, platform fees)

Allocation Structure:

  • A portion of funds is used for operational sustainability (e.g., shipping, materials)

  • The majority is directed toward direct aid for refugee communities

Accountability Measures:

  • All purchases and distributions are tracked internally

  • Donation usage summaries will be shared through reports and updates

  • Visual documentation (photos, receipts when appropriate) is collected for major initiatives

Partner Organizations & Collaborations

STARS works with trusted organizations, schools, and community partners to ensure safe and effective delivery of all materials.

Examples of partnerships include:

  • Refugee support organizations

  • Local and international nonprofits

  • Community centers and schools serving refugee populations

These partners help us:

  • Distribute letters and supplies

  • Identify recipient needs

  • Ensure materials reach intended communities

Proof of Impact

We are committed to showing that all contributions and volunteer efforts create real impact.

Evidence includes:

  • Photo documentation of delivered materials (when permitted)

  • Partner confirmations of receipt

  • Internal tracking of:

    • Number of letters sent

    • Number of students reached

    • Items distributed

  • Impact updates shared via:

    • Website

    • Social media

    • Reports (coming soon)

As we grow, STARS aims to publish formal impact reports for full transparency.

STARS (Standing Together Assisting Refugee Students) has obtained the official 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in the United States.

During this period, STARS continues to operate with full transparency and accountability while completing federal registration.
