How To Become A Member
1. Scroll through the different departments on this page to see which ones interest you.

3. Sign up to be a member through our Application Link. You will receive a confirmation email approving your membership within 48 hours.
After becoming a member
1. Open up the Event Page.
​
2. The page will list a biweekly updated event. All work/service must be done according to this event (including maximum amounts).

3. Submit your work to our Volunteer Logs.
​
4. You will receive a certificate within 7 days of submission (specific forms may be uploaded to the log as well).

Art Department
Uses creativity to tell refugee stories and spread awareness through visual art. Members work on both collaborative and individual pieces that support and uplift refugee communities.
- draw/design/photograph moments resembling community/culture/refugees to be published in our website portfolio
- *artwork max changes per month, updated on Portfolio Page monthly*
- 1 Gallery piece: 2 hrs
- Instagram cover: +0.5 hr (please specify you permit your piece being an Instagram cover in your Volunteer Log)
- create digital/physical letters for refugee children around the world
- *card max changes per event, updated on Portfolio Page biweekly*
- 1 Physical card: 1 hr
- 1 Digital card: 0.5 hr
Writing Department
Focuses on storytelling, reflection, and advocacy through words. Members write blog posts, personal stories, interviews, and educational pieces that highlight refugee experiences and families’ stories.
- writing blogs related to community, self-identity, culture, and the refugee community
- *blogs max changes per event, updated on Blog Page biweekly*
- 1 Blog = 1.5 hr​
- 1 Poem = 1 hr
Marketing Department
Handles outreach, branding, and engagement. Members manage social media, design graphics, promote events, and help grow STARS’ presence so more people can learn, join, and take action.
- Instagram/TikTok posts advertising and promoting STARS to reach a wider audience
- 1 Video = 1 hr
- Design new posts, website pages
- 1 post = 0.5 hr
Translating Department
- translate blog posts that are posted biweekly into Spanish/Arabic/French/Malaysian/Chinese/Hindi/Portuguese/Bengali
- *please send an email to translation.starsrefugeeorg@gmail.com (specify your language) and we will email you the blog. once receiving the email, you have 10 days to finish the translation and email us back
- using Google Translate or any translation platforms is prohibited
- 1 Blog = 1 hr
