Why do we need spring?

by Ishwarya Tyagi

Why do we need spring?

We all say that spring welcomes the warmth of summer to the dormancy winter creates. The soft breezes break the tightly packed cubes of ice and the sunlight melts mornings into feeling like freshly baked muffins.

But what makes it the best, is how it changes our life.

Our gaze shifts from the inside to the outside world; we start going out more, looking around more, touching and feeling the soft bits of blooming flowers and plants in our backyards.

Spring reminds us to look at the sky; the clouds turn pink, the grass; how it feels softer and hugs our feet close, the sun; that feels like a warm hug.

It helps our body reach a state of balance, and peace, which the earth and our soul equally need.

What I find beautiful is how our body and the earth work in synergy. We often overlook both and focus too much on the things we need to achieve. Spring reminds us to pause, relax and rethink. Reconnect with our souls, and reconnect with the earth. It's almost like mother nature stands towards us with love, waiting for us to melt in its arms, for a retreat, in the spring.
